On 19th and 20th May 2016, Quantum Global Solutions Associate Directors Matthew Schofield and Ronan Kelly attended the Society of Construction Law (SCL) Astra Event which took place in Madrid, Spain.

The two-day event was hosted by the SCL and supported by Spanish law firm Garrigues and provided an opportunity to see how Spain deals with arbitration and construction issues and delays. The event also included a tour of the Palace of Santoña, which is very near the Court of Arbitration, a truly spectacular venue.

The conference was attended by a mixture of European commercial and contractual professionals, lawyers, barristers and arbitrators and provided Quantum an opportunity to share first-hand experience in discussing issues of importance with international arbitrators and barristers.

Ronan Kelly stated, “Quantum is strongly committed to hearing different experiences from a diverse audience and sharing our knowledge and experience in the international community. We are extremely proud to be involved with the SCL and to discuss the issues currently affecting our industry, and seeing how Spain deals with delays and at the same enjoying the beautiful city of Madrid.”

During the visit, Ronan and Matthew also held meetings with a number of the major Spanish construction companies including ACS/Dragados, Ferrovial and FCC.

Quantum is acknowledged as one of the leading construction consultancies dedicated to serving the interests of the international construction market.
