
Dr Nabil Abbas – Expert, Arbitrator – Quantum Partner
Dr Nabil has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Throughout his career, he has designed, supervised and managed construction projects for both the public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia where his particular expertise in contracts, FIDIC training, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), project management and construction claims have proved invaluable to his clients.
During his career he has been appointed by various bodies including the Board of Grievances, Higher Sharia Court, Makkah Governate, Civil Rights Department, Chambers of Commerce in Saudi Arabia and directly by private entities as an arbitrator, sole arbitrator and expert witness in over 350 construction-related cases, exceeding US$ 2.4 billion in value.
He is a Registered Arbitrator at the GCC Arbitration Centre, Bahrain, a Registered Arbitrator (Class A) – Saudi Society of Engineers, Registered Arbitrator Class (A) at the Union of Engineering Organisations in Islamic Countries and representative of the Union in the Saudi Arabia and a Registered Arbitrator at the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
Dr Nabil has a PhD in Construction Engineering and Management, a BSc in Architecture and has a Post-Graduate Degree in Islamic Studies. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the Association of Cost Engineer, an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects, the Saudi Arabia DRBF Country Representative and is the only GCC national accredited FIDIC trainer in Saudi Arabia and GCC countries.
