As one of the four pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030, education plays a pivotal role in Qatar’s long-term sustainable future. In support of the vision, Quantum Global Solutions (Quantum) recently supported Doha British School (DBS) as Principle Sponsor of “Insperact”, a team competing in the ‘F1 for Schools’ competition held on the 3rd of March 2015 at DBS.  The team consisting of five year 11 students, Karim Shaaban (Manager), Michael Ibrahim (Engineer), Matthew Wicaksono (Manufacturer), Zali Kelly (Designer) and Sean Borras (Communications) came 1st in Qatar out of 12 teams.  “Insperact” will now travel to Singapore to represent the State of Qatar in the World F1 for Schools finals.

We are very proud to be associated with such an imaginative and professional team such as “Insperact” and are very proud of their achievements.  We look forward to their continued success for both Doha British School and the State of Qatar in their World Finals campaign.” Peter Murphy, Managing Director of Quantum said.

The “F1 in Schools” competition challenge is an international competition open to school students between the ages of 9 and 19.  The object is to design, manufacture and race balsa wood F1 cars powered by compressed air.  In addition to manufacturing the car, the students have to demonstrate their skills in raising sponsorship, the design process, media skills, financial management, branding, aerodynamics, and physics through presentations, portfolios and a pit display.

The next round for “Insperact” will be held in Singapore between 10 and 17 of September 2015 to coincide with the Singapore F1 Grand Prix.  The participants are welcomed by the F1 community and enjoy such experiences such as tours of the pits and tracks and seeing the race close up.

“We wish them good luck in Singapore” Mr Murphy added.
