In mid-March, with Qatar’s summer weather fast approaching members of Quantum Global Solutions (Quantum) arranged a family football fun day for Quantum families and friends.

The event took place in the grounds of Doha College with multiple opportunities to play games of football, penalty kick competitions and some games and activities, complete with prizes for all the winners, for smaller children.

One of the highlights of the event was the QGS Four Nations Football Cup match: England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales.  After a hard fought battle and some near disputes (amicably resolved) Northern Ireland were declared the winner – and rematches were called for October.

Associate Director Ronan Kelly organised the event and noted, “We had a tremendous turnout at the event having given no excuses to our employees at Quantum for being too old, too young, not fit enough, having a sore back, even a glass ankle didn’t enable a no-show!  The whole day was great fun and we look forward to arranging a rematch later in the year”.

Speaking from one of the losing teams, Peter Murphy said, “The Quantum family is one of the pillars of our corporate philosophy and is a fundamental cornerstone of how we operate.  Ronan undertook the preparations for the event and while the results of the match may still be under scrutiny along with the ‘creative’ rules on qualification (how could English lose?) this is definitely an event we hope to add to our yearly family events calendar and watch out in October – England will return in force and overcome.”
