UAE based Hewitt Construction Consultancy, a company specialising in construction contractual matters, construction claims and training on these subjects will once again partner with Qatar based Quantum Global Solutions, a leading management consultancy dedicated to serving the interests of international construction and engineering organisations, to deliver its 2-day Intensive Training Course on construction claims to professionals in Qatar on 13 and 14 January 2015.

The course is designed to provide those representing both contractors and clients with the knowledge necessary to manage, prepare, present and respond to construction claims in an effective and professional manner.

Qatar is currently experiencing massive growth in construction projects, a situation which is likely to increase during the period before the FIFA World Cup in 2022.  In a situation such as this, with challenging deadlines and huge investments, it is inevitable that conflicts will occur on projects. If these conflicts are not handled effectively, disputes will occur which will lead to added costs to both contractors and clients and probably a breakdown of relationships and good will between the parties.

The course developer and leading presenter, Andy Hewitt, who is the Principal of Hewitt Construction Consultancy, commented on the decision to bring the course to Qatar a third time and said, “Since the first Doha based course in 2013 the Claims Class name and what we do has spread which led to enquiries about future Doha courses. Since the first one was such a success we decided to visit Doha and deliver the course on an annual basis. Plus, the increase in construction projects in Doha as a result of planning for the World Cup means that claims are also likely to increase and we are excited to provide construction professionals with the opportunity to learn how to properly deal with claims and to increase their company’s bottom line on projects”.

Steven Beaumont, Executive Director at Quantum Global Solutions, will also present the course and said, “Partnering with Hewitt Construction Consultancy here in Qatar creates a strong unit where experience from both Qatar and the GCC markets can be brought together to deliver a quality training course to Doha construction professionals including quantity surveyors, engineers, contract administrators, architects, planners and project managers. Given QGS’s international experience and knowledge of the market, we are proud to be taking part in this prestigious event to contribute towards the sharing of knowledge and experience within Qatar’s construction industry”.
