Quantum Global Solutions (QGS) presented a talk on construction careers to over 50, Year 11 students at Park House English School, Doha.  The talk was presented by Ian Maund, Senior Commercial and Contractual Consultant at QGS in partnership with Pierre Sells, Commercial Manager at Aecom.

The talk covered the numerous professional career paths and opportunities available to school leavers and those graduating from university in the construction industry, and is part of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and NOVUS’ Careers Outreach Programme.

Speaking after the event Maund said, “Qatar’s construction sector is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth and students are fully aware of the multiple infrastructure construction projects currently underway in Qatar.  As a result students were very interested to learn more about the different careers available in the construction industry.  QGS is proud to be part of local career fairs and educational initiatives to support Qatar’s next generation of construction industry professionals”.

Following the positive response from students, QGS and Aecom plan to attend the Doha College Career Fair in December and give career talks and advice on A-level and degree choices for students who are interested in careers in the construction industry. A further visit to Park House English School is also planned in the New Year.  The events are part of the ongoing CIOB’s educational programme to support Qatar’s school students and share industry knowledge to enable students to make their future career choices.

In addition to their industry roles, Maund is also Chairman of the CIOB, Qatar Centre and Sells is Chairman of the NOVUS Group, a sub-group of the CIOB which provides an educational and social forum for young construction professionals.

QGS is acknowledged as one of the leading management consultants dedicated to serving the interests of the international construction and engineering industries.  In addition to regular industry presentations, QGS is also actively involved in the presentation of training courses and mentoring programmes.
