Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 6 March 2019: As part of the Quantum Lecture Series, Associate Director, Michael Davies recently presented ‘Effective Contract Administration’ at the POWERCHINA and Sinohydro Annual Meeting in Dubai for the second year running. The annual meeting is attended by up to 120 attendees held over a number of days.
The dynamic presentation included topics ranging from notifications and time bars, programme and delay analysis, concurrent delay and dispute avoidance. The presentation also included examples of projects Quantum has been involved with and the typical issues encountered relating to the topics presented from the types of delays and the amended forms of FIDIC contract.
The presentation formed part of the Quantum/POWERCHINA/Sinohydro Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed in April 2017. The agreement creates a fully comprehensive construction consultancy solution offering both parties the opportunity to focus on their individual areas of expertise while enhancing the overall service offering to current and future POWERCHINA/Sinohydro clients. Michael Davies has over 12 years’ experience in commercial and claims management across the UK and Middle East. He has a wide range of experience from quality monitoring, project and contract management to construction law including various forms of building contracts that has proved invaluable to clients. His experience includes providing assistance to contractors in the Middle East, specifically claims for extension of time, loss and expense and liquidated and ascertained damages, quantum for prolongation, disruption, variation costs and working to assist experts for expert witness reports for use in arbitration.
