Russia’s goals to boost its slice of the global LNG market from its 2018 estimates of 8% to 20% by 2035 have been given a boost with the go-ahead of the Novatek Arctic LNG 2 project. The $21 billion project, comprising three liquefaction trains with a total production capacity of 19.8 million tons a year, is expected to be completed in phases between 2023 and 2026.
