As part of QGS’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community the company recently supported the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) by sponsoring their annual fun day and supplying sports kits for the junior members of the club.

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), formed in Qatar in 2004, is a volunteer led, community based organisation that promotes Gaelic games such as hurling, football, handball and rounders.

Peter Murphy, QGS’s Managing Director said, “Corporate social responsibility is an integral element in QGS’s philosophy to support our local community.  Our sponsorship of the GAA is aimed at helping to popularise and encourage participation in Gaelic games within the local community and to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. We are proud to be an active sponsor of the GAA and are happy to see the organisation go from strength to strength and to see such enthusiastic participation in the sport by youngsters of all ages”.

Speaking following the sponsorship agreement, Peter F. Murphy, Chairman of the junior sub-committee of the GAA said, “The GAA’s junior section is only in its second season in Qatar we now have over 65 registered children from four to fourteen years of age. QGS has been a long term sponsor of the GAA in Qatar and as a non-profit organisation, supported and coached entirely by volunteers having QGS as one of our corporate sponsors for our activities is invaluable”.
