Continuing the Quantum lecture series, started in 2015, Andrew Woodward, Quantum Regional Director Qatar and Technical Director recently made a presentation on ‘Middle East Construction Risk and Dispute Resolution’ to members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) – Doha Chapter.
Andrew’s presentation focused on the issues affecting the country’s construction industry In line with Qatar’s continued focus on the development of state sponsored mega-projects, the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 infrastructure projects. Key highlights included an overview on the pressures currently facing the industry, the pathway to dispute (and any ultimate settlement) and the cost of dispute.
The presentation formed part of a series of ICAI Continuous Professional Education (CPE) events arranged by the ICAI held throughout the year to develop industry among their members.

The Chapter in Doha was established in the year 1981 and is the oldest among the 30 overseas Chapters of the ICAI. The membership of the Chapter has grown steadily since its founding days and presently has over 300 members who hold key positions in various private and public companies and are actively involved in support and development of the accounting profession in Qatar.
